Akshay Kumar PADMAN fails to enter 100 cr club

padman fails to enter 100 crore club

The Akshay Kumar padman which released on the 9 Feb 2018 finds it difficult to enter the pivotal 100 cr club. The movie was initially scheduled to release on republic day which was later rescheduled to release on the day before the republic day, i.e. on 25 January.

Ironically movie couldn’t even release on 25 January as the makers of ‘padmaavat’ Sanjay Leela Bhansali pleads to Akshay Kumar to leave the date 25 Jan for the padmavat so that it will get a solo release at the box office.
Finally, padman shifted to 9 Feb release and all other movies which were releasing on the 9 Feb shifted to other dates. So padman also enjoyed a solo run at the box office.

The movie is in the fourth week, and till now it has collected around 80 cr approx. The journey to the 100 cr for padman is impossible as post padman bunch of movies released and out of those Sidharth Malhotra starrer aiyaary performed decent at the box office and collected around 19 cr.

To halt the business of ‘padman’ two more movies released on 23 Feb ‘Sonu ke titu ki sweety’ and ‘ welcome to new york.’ Surprisingly Kartik Aryan starrer ‘Sonu ke titu ki sweety’ has won the box office battle and has successfully raked in 46 cr in its first week.

To further decrease the padman count two more movies are releasing today, Anushka Sharma Kohli starrer ‘pari’ and pulkit Samrat ‘veerey ki wedding’ which will put another halt to padman collections.

However padman was made at an economical budget which it has already recovered, but as it was hugely promoted on social media and being Akshay Kumar film it was expected to perform well at the box office and easily surpass the 100 cr, but all the social media campaign failed and looks like audience no more wants to see akki in a biopic movies that have strong social message.
